The kind of world I would like to contribute to in the next 10 years is a world dedicated to peace with between all nations. This world values education and inspiration. This is a world that values all people for who they are and what they contribute, as opposed to who they know, what they look like, or how much money they make. I want to contribute a world where individuals feel free to walk the streets freely without fear of violence. I want to see a world where technology is a tool to connect, but not to divide. This kind of world may be a pipe dream, but I think educators can be an agent for change.

The kind of world I would like to contribute to is one where everyone has affordable healthcare and the necessary education to succeed. I would like to see the numbers of those employed continue to increase. The numbers of those on the streets, decrease. I want students to have the opportunities as others and not be left behind because of funding. We NEED so much change in this world, and I just hope to see continued progress. I will continue to do my part by educating children and having students be conscious of good hygiene.

The kind of world I would like to contribute to is one in which I can get my students to READ.

I did a survey of my classes earlier this year and I found the results to be quite disheartening. Less than 1% of them ever read a newspaper, either online or actually reading the paper. Less than 5% ever read a book for pleasure. The vast majority of them never take a textbook home, even when they have to do an assignment from one.

Any ideas?

I'd like to live in a world that is not this one. Our civilization used to have a strong drive to explore and expand, yet in the last 30 years we have not ventured beyond low Earth orbit. Why don't we have people living on the Moon? Or Mars? In 12 years we went from Sputnik to the Moon landing. Then we stalled.

I want to live in space.

I would like to contribute to a world in which everyone gets along. Everyone would be seen as equals and live without violence and fear.

Everything would have a happy ending.

The kind of world I would like to contribute to in the next two years is a world where people work together for the greater good of all mankind. I would like to see a world where nations help each other instead of creating wars. A world where corporations and people value the environment and work to find ways to make this a cleaner safer earth.

The kind of world I would like to contribute to is a world where each child has an equal education. I know this is somewhat of a pipe dream, but the inequalities in schools is astounding to me. While one school has flat screen TV's, another school doesn't have enough books for each student. Yet, these schools are not only in the same country, but can be in the same metropolitan area. I don't know what the answer to this issue is, but I hope to contribute to the answer in a way that might be different two or ten years from now.

I would like a world free of anti-semitism and more opportunities for people with learning disabilities in the workforce.
